Navy Island & White Shaker Kitchen Remodel in Fairfax, VA | Min O. Project
Kitchen remodel in Fairfax, VA, completed March 2026 - by Kitchen Design Center.
About this project
These Fairfax homeowners wanted to replace their closed-off peninsula with an island and trade the kitchen's darker, dated finishes for a brighter, more modern look. Kitchen Design Center designed a new island in J&K's B7 Naval blue, surrounded by B5 Pure white perimeter cabinetry, and topped everything with Calacatta Venzo quartz from Venezia Surfaces. A glossy Glazzio Aspenite Drive backsplash, under-cabinet LED lighting, fresh paint and a sleek new hood complete the update. The result is a cleaner, more open kitchen that feels brighter, more spacious and far more functional.
Design style: Modern
The challenge
The main challenge was redesigning the layout to replace the peninsula with an island while keeping proper clearances and creating a more open, functional kitchen.
Our solution
Our team reworked the layout so the new island has enough room around it for comfortable movement, which opened the kitchen up and made it feel more spacious and modern.
