Charcoal Kitchen with Open Layout & New Island in Alexandria, VA | Jennifer R. Project
Kitchen remodel in Alexandria, VA, completed March 2025 - by Kitchen Design Center.
About this project
These Alexandria homeowners wanted a modern, open kitchen. Kitchen Design Center removed a wall to open up the space and added a new island and a refrigerator and bar wall with a built-in beverage cooler. J&K cabinetry in E3 Charcoal gives the room a clean, stylish look against bright Venzo quartz countertops, and a warm wood-slat range hood adds a striking focal point. The new layout provides more storage and more open space, making the kitchen bigger, more practical and more comfortable for everyday living.
Design style: Modern transitional
The challenge
The main challenge was removing the wall to make the kitchen bigger and more open.
Our solution
We reworked the layout around the opened wall, adding storage and an island so the larger space is as practical as it is open.
