About this project
These Alexandria homeowners wanted a modern kitchen with a clean, natural feel. Kitchen Design Center removed the existing island and redesigned the room to open up circulation and make the layout more practical for everyday living. Warm Barley-finish cabinetry from 21st Century, Venezia Venzo quartz countertops and a slim Glazzio subway tile backsplash create a bright, soft palette, while floating open shelves, a stacked wall-oven column and a dedicated spot for the microwave keep the space functional. The result opens directly to a sunny breakfast area and feels larger, lighter and easier to use.

The challenge
The existing island blocked the flow of the kitchen, so the space had to be rethought around a more open layout.
Our solution
By removing the island we opened up the room and used the extra space to make the layout more practical, comfortable and easy to use every day.
